Intalnirea cu Baba

In atelierele de creatie de langa Televiziune, in anul 1974, Radu Prişcu, insotit de profesorul sau din scoala, i-a aratat si aceasta lucrare pictorului Corneliu Baba.
De ce incurajarile de atunci nu au fost suficiente pentru ca suprarealistul tanar sa persevereze in vocatia confimata de maestru... va ramane misterul nasterii lui Radu ca pictor.

In the creation studios near the Television, in the year 1974, Radu Prişcu, accompanied by his school teacher, showed this work as well to the painter Corneliu Baba. Why the encouragements at the time were not sufficient for the young Surrealist to persevere in his vocation confirmed by the master… remains the mystery of Radu's birth as a painter.

Cand pictorul Radu Prişcu mi-a spus ca aceasta lucrare a sa din tinerete este facuta cu crema de ghete, am tresarit intr-o noua revelatie: cum poti oare sa ai atata sclipire, incat sa iei borcanul din debara, o foaie si sa faci rapid "Portret cu bască"...?!

When the painter Radu Prişcu told me that this work of his from his youth is made with shoe polish, I was startled to a new revelation: how is it that you can have so much spark, to grab the can of shoe polish from the storeroom, a piece of paper, and quickly sketch ‘Portrait with a cap’…?!
